WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?

As an interfaith Spiritual Director, I am a guide and witness for exploration and connection with the Sacred, in the various ways people experience that relationship.

It is much like a gentle Stroll ....
In contradiction to its name, spiritual direction is not about being directed, rather it is about having a compassionate companion to your personal journey, someone who listens deeply, someone who encourages self-care, someone who is accepting of another's journey. Life provides us with opportunities that are both mundane and courageous, spectacular and routine. Most often, our deepest connection to the Holy within our Self is just being witnessed, being seen even in the ordinary moments of our lives; being known in ways that invite us into feeling whole.

I think of my role in direction as like a compass, the instrument which provides you the heading of your path and its relationship to your Northern point. However, it always remains your action that takes you forward on your journey.

Spiritual Direction: About Me

What Can You Expect?

From Me:
I am committed to being compassionate and welcoming, to creating a space where you can feel free to bring all of who you are. I especially welcome LGBTQ, queer, trans and gender-fluid persons, as well as those within polyamorous and kink families.

I am a Unitarian Universalist with a personal faith rooted in ecotheology, feminine mysteries, and spiritual mysticism; raised in a secular family of Catholic and Protestant interfaith origins.

From a Session:
Individual sessions are $80 for a hour period and are currently all within a video conference format. I am open to adjustments that better suit your needs, so please contact me about other options.

I mostly work in a comfortable and reflective style, but initially, I will have more questions in our sessions as we create our flow together. I continue to listen deeply and am more spacious as we continue our time together. I start by getting to know you, learning about who you are, the language you use for the sacred and divinity, and what your soul dreams of. At times, we may welcome creativity into our shared time, whether using poetry or other readings, imagery, or music; possibly inviting an exercise of creative expression through an artform that may be valuable to you. We may also share quiet space, or just chat about how things are within your soul.
